Present Projects

The majority of CiC’s projects involve to some degree partnerships with other agencies or Churches. It should also be noted that all projects by definition are in a state of flux, some are in the process of being developed, others are reaching the end of their lives.

The present projects are:

Time To Transform Our Communities – CiC have produced the Time to TOC website, which provides an exhaustive guide to good practice for any organisation aiming to work with young people. CiC can also offer specialised training courses and can accredit participants to OCN level.

CiC Volunteering – This service recruits volunteers to work with refugees, migrant workers and Churches. A refugee drop in centre has been established at Crumpsall Methodist Church in partnership with an emerging group of refugees called Migrants Supporting Migrants.

Learning Skills and Employment Network (LSEN) – CiC is the managing agency for two of the key strategic networks that provide the link for the voluntary sector to engage in the Local Strategic partnership. LSEN employs two members of staff who coordinate and serve a wide number of bodies and consortia.

Community Safety network (CSN) – CSN like LSEN is funded by Working Neighbourhoods Fund and represent the community and voluntary sector at the police led Partnership Business Meeting and ensures that community concerns are acted upon.

Moston Lane Youth Project (MYP) – CiC employs a youth worker in conjunction with Moston Methodist Church who delivers four sessions a week providing quality services for around 120 young people in the Moston area of Manchester.

Whalley Range – CiC employs a facilities manager in partnership with Whalley Range Methodist Church to increase the community usage of the Church.

ECOTEC – Grundtvig/Leonardo – CiC is a partner in two European funded initiatives exploring how faith groups can support vulnerable and disabled clients in accessing training and employment.

Advice and Support to Churches – CiC has helped pull down funding for Platt Lane Methodist Church, Nexus and Salt Cellar this year and is working with a number of Churches throughout the Manchester & Stockport Methodist District actively supporting them with governance, HR and funding applications.
